Independent New York streetwear brand Supreme has carved out a distinctive and uncompromising aesthetic that transcends that of a traditional skateboard company, making it one of the leading and most desired multicultural lifestyle brands on the planet. The huge demand for Supreme products significantly outweighs the relatively small production runs, rivaling luxury fashion houses in terms of its desirability and collectability.
Following in the footsteps of legendary artists such as Damien Hirst, KAWS, George Condo, and Raymond Pettibon, David LaChapelle’s new collaboration with Supreme features his 2008 photograph, ‘Holy War.’ Printed on skate decks and t-shirts in six colorways, the artwork juxtaposes a pastoral landscape of Jesus shepherding lambs and children with a war scene depicting oil derricks amidst a cornucopia of missiles and carnage.
